About the event + Schedule

LIFT is a weightlifting game invented in a backyard during Coach Patrick's birthday party in 2020. The three coaches brought a barbell and some plates on the grass and start playing a game "weightlifting 'Horse'." If you're unfamiliar with HORSE, it's a game typically played with a baketball and a hoop where players take turns taking shot attempts. If a player, who's turn it is to designtate the shot, make sit, the other player respond my attempting the identical shot. If successful, they are safe, if they miss they earn 1 letter from H.O.R.S.E. Once all letters are earned, that player is out!

Now, replace the basketball with weightlifting and that's basically the game! During registration you will have the opportunity to pick a predesignated barbell weight. We limit the weight on the bar to a few options to not only keep the game as safe as possible, but to keep it focused around creativity when coming up with weightlifting movements rather than brute strength, alone. Games are played with 2-4 players and you will be matched with other participants who select the same barbell weight as you.

If you have any questions about the game, email us!
